Quick Tip: Remove <p> from your WordPress install

Posted by Luke Anderson on 29 May 2008

Hey guys, Lewis is in Holland this week so it’s up to me to bring you the best coding content on the web! In this tutorial I will show you how to remove those very annoying <p> tags that show up everywhere in WordPress.

Step 1

First of all, download the ZIP file at this site:
http://urbangiraffe.com/plugins/disable-wpautop/

Step 2

Login to your WordPress install then navigate to the plugins section and activate the plugin called “Disable wpautop”. Every <p> tag will now dissapear from your WordPress install as if by magic!

Explanation

You may ask why you would want to do this? Well when <p> tags show up in places they create a horrible whitespace. Although you can create a style with no margin or padding, not many people have that.
